Beijing is more and more expanding towards the east. With the growth of Beijing business districts in Chaoyang and Beijing CBD, a lot of companies are looking for offices in the east, with more affordable rents and larger surfaces. Similarly, middle class Chinese people tend to find homes in these new residentiel districts east of fourth ring road, more affordable and with a smoother road traffic.

These new districts are Yaojiayuan, Qingnian and Sihui, a large area that Chinese people call Chaoqing extending at the east of fourth ring road.

This is an area undergoing a full transformation as we are writing these lines. These last years, large high standard compounds have been built where you can fing large apartments inside Beijing.

Access to this district is now very easy. There is two main road accesses: Chaoyang Bei Lu and Jintong expressway which is a prologation of the Jingyao street eastwards. By subway,the lines 1 & 6 drive you right in Beijing city center.

These is two large parks in this area: Chaoyang Park and Honglinjin Park. The access to this park is easy from this side as well, this is a good way to breathe in Beijing and specially suited for people with kids, together with the larger apartment.

This is an university area of Beijing (smaller than Wudaokou-Haidian, but still with some important universities and institutes, their campuses). For expatriate children, several international schools are settled there.

Just besides is located a Kindergarten and a school for younger children, the Yew Wah International Education Foundation.

A large shopping mall Joy City 朝阳大悦城 has been opened in the district, next to Xinghuolu subway station (line 6). This is a pleasant place to go out with many restaurants and shops. Many young Chinese people living in the district come there to have some fun.

If you are looking for international food, there is a few adresses not to be missed: a Jenny Lou's is located Yaojiayuan Beilu, A Carrefour Shop on Yaojiayuan Lu and a April Gourmet located 6 Gaoyang Gongyuan Nanlu.

Since the opening of the Beijing subway line 6, this district has become much easier to access. The place is perfect if you are looking for a large new serviced apartment with an attarctive rent.
