Located in northeast Beijing, Lido is a small but growing residential area among international shops and hotels. Local expatriates often come together for events and leisure. Proximity to the airport, the international schools in Shunyi, and the city center make it an ideal location for frequent travelers and families.
Accommodation
Many developments are new and reasonably priced, with rents starting from CNY 3,000. Richmond Park, Hairun International Condo, and Upper East Side offer more luxury options that include a gym, sauna, and swimming pool with prices beginning from CNY 10,000.
Shopping & Amenities
Jenny Lou's, Comptoirs de France, Eudora Resort Cafe, and the Lido Deli are only the most notable of the many cafes, restaurants, and shops that serve the Lido area. Several spas and beauty parlors, a pharmacy, and Tom's DVDs, Beijing's largest DVD shop.
Entertainment & Leisure
There is a small selection of international food including Annie's, Pure Lotus, and Frank's Place. The main park in Lido, equipped with tennis courts and football fields, is popular among Beijing's sporting community. Sanlitun is a 15 minute taxi ride away while Beijing's 798 art district is within walking distance.
Education
Eton International School, Eton International Bilingual Academy, Beanstalk International Kindergarten, and the International Academy of Beijing are all located in Lido. School buses shuttle children to and from the international schools in Shunyi, which is only a short commute to the north.
Transport
The Airport Expressway connects the Lido area to the airport (15-20 minute drive) as well as to the Third and Second Ring Roads. Though the subway does not reach Lido, buses do run frequently to the city center.

Beijing United Family is the city's largest international hospital and a trusted solution for most expatriates. All doctors are international and speak English. Amcare Women's and Children's Hospital is also in the area.
